What a track season

Our AZPVA athletes had an incredible high school season, and we couldn’t be more proud of everyone’s hard work and dedication.

A special congratulations goes to Dash Wasson, who captured a State Championship with an outstanding 17’1” clearance. Congratulations, Dash!

We also love celebrating every athlete’s personal best. Throughout the season, we do our best to share PR videos from all of our club members on the AZPVA Instagram. If we happened to miss yours, please let us know. Text Nathan at 602-209-1339 with your name and a video of your jump, and we’d be happy to feature your accomplishment.

Summer camp is almost here

One of our favorite traditions each year is hosting athletes from across the country — and even around the world — for our seasonal pole vault camps.

If you’re an AZPVA club member and haven’t attended one yet, we highly encourage you to join us. Camp gives us the opportunity to dive much deeper than our regular club practices.

In addition to jump sessions, we’ll cover topics such as:

  • Nutrition for performance
  • Training principles
  • Competition psychology
  • Event-specific warm-ups
  • Injury prevention and prehab
  • Pool vaulting and specialty drills
  • Technical progressions you may not experience during regular club practices

Whether you’re looking to become a better vaulter, make new friends, or simply immerse yourself in the event for three days, we’d love to have you with us.

July 13–15. Spots are still available. Register on the camps page before camp fills.

Elite member benefit

Elite Membership now includes a permanent $200 discount on every AZPVA vault camp. Discount spots are limited, so register early.

Looking ahead: fall training

Every experienced track athlete knows the importance of fall training.

From September through December, there are no competitions to prepare for, making it the perfect opportunity to build the athletic foundation that leads to big personal bests in the spring.

Our fall training focuses on developing complete athletes through:

  • Sprint mechanics and speed development
  • Strength training
  • Gymnastics and body control
  • Mobility and injury prevention
  • Technical skill development

We have a limited number of spots available for this year’s Fall Training Team. If you’re interested, let one of the coaches know so we can reserve your place. More information will be released soon. See Fall Training.

Help our club grow

The best way AZPVA continues to grow is through your referrals.

If you have a friend, teammate, or family member who has ever wanted to try pole vault, we’d love to introduce them to the sport.

We regularly host free beginner clinics, and if someone you refer joins AZPVA, you’ll receive a $100 referral bonus as our way of saying thank you.

Keep an eye on our social media and emails for upcoming clinic dates — and help us grow the pole vault community.

Welcome back, Coach Nate

Coach Nate spent the last four months at the Gilbert Regional Fire Academy, and has officially been hired as a firefighter at the City of Maricopa. If any of our club members have had interest in the fire service, he would be happy to answer any questions you might have.
