The Reno Pole Vault Summit

The Pinnacle of Pole Vault Events
Of all the competitions, the Reno Pole Vault Summit has become the pinnacle of pole vault events. Athletes from all over the world make their pilgrimage to the legendary convention. It boasts nearly 20 pole vault pits and runways inside one building for the largest gathering of vaulters you will ever see.
If you are ever making the tough decision on which meet to travel to, we always recommend making the Summit a priority.

Athletes will be placed into divisions based on their entered personal best.
Meet Information
Please thoroughly go through the competition website. It should be able to answer almost every question, including hotel information, shuttle systems, registration, itinerary, competition details, where to eat, and more.
Travel note: You do not need to rent a car. The Summit typically has shuttle systems available for transportation between the airport, hotel, and competition venue.

AZPVA Itinerary
Tuesday, January 12 – 5pm:
Everyone attending the Summit meets up at AZPVA to put together poles in as few bags as possible. Last year we only needed 8 pole bags for the whole group. Pole bag travel costs are included in the AZPVA travel fee. You no longer need to transport poles to and from the airport. Poles will be shipped through Southwest Cargo and arrive at the competition arena.
Thursday, January 14:
Travel from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Check in at the meet hotel. You can pick up meet credentials both Thursday evening and Friday morning. We do not recommend trying to fly in Friday morning since many of the clinics begin early.
Friday, January 15:
Clinics, keynote speakers, and more. Friday night is the Elite Section, where Coach Tray will be competing against the best in the world. We would love to have everyone there to cheer him on.
Important pole reminder: After your clinic session, be sure your poles get put back in the correct bag.
Saturday, January 16:
Competition flights will run from approximately 7am to 5pm. Be sure to arrive at least one hour before your competition start time to find poles, get warmed up, and find your coach.
Your credentials will have shuttle schedules on them. Be sure you know where shuttles arrive and get there 5–10 minutes early so you do not miss your bus.
Important pole reminder: After your competition session, be sure your poles get put back in the correct bag.

The AZPVA travel fee helps cover pole transportation and group travel logistics. Poles will be consolidated into as few bags as possible and shipped through Southwest Cargo to make travel easier for athletes and families.
Important Reminders

- Do not plan to fly in Friday morning if you want to attend the clinics.
- Arrive early for your competition session.
- Know your shuttle schedule and pickup location.
- Make sure your poles are returned to the correct pole bag after each session.
